5th Class learned so much during their first lesson in the garden this year. Because it was so was so overgrown after the holidays, it was full of life. The girls explored the garden and brought plants and bugs that caught their eye to the table, where Patrick taught them the plants' names and lots more. When we returned to the classroom, the girls wrote a recount based on their trip. They also drew their favourite plants and labelled them with their correct names. Next time Patrick visits, some of the girls will update you all in this blog! A few days later, we visited Rathfarnham Castle, as part of the 'local history' strand of the History Curriculum. A great start to what we hope will be, a very enjoyable and educational school year!
