For Active School Week Room 7 had a wonderful yoga lesson with Rebecca's mom, a swim in Meadowbrook, designed Active School posters and much more!
WE are delighted to announce that we now have a school soccer team. Maggie, an FAI Development Officer, is coaching 5th Class and will continue to do so when the girls are in 6th Class. We will be having our first match between now and the summer holidays and will play in the league next year!
Well done to 5th Class who won their playoff for 3rd place in their first ever basketball blitz in fact, their first ever competitive basketball matches!Great job, Laila and Megan who don't play basketball, but worked as table officials on the day!
We had beautiful, sunny weather for our match against Griffith Barracks MDS. Both teams played brilliantly and the final score was a draw of 6-6!
Check out our new Active Stars Noticeboard! If you are very proud of a recent achievement in a sport that you play outside school, tell Mrs. Lane and share it with us all at Assembly. We will then take your photo and hang it on our Active Stars Noticeboard! Remember- horseriding, Irish dancing, running, swimming and ballet are all sports!
After a very exciting whole school effort, we voted for our favourite Active School slogan and logo. The winning slogan, created by Eithar and Kinga in Room 12 is 'Be active, be cool, not only at school!'. The winning logo was drawn by Ruth in Room 3. It is a lovely picture of three girls skipping! Well done, Ruth! You will see our slogan and logo popping up in all kinds of places! Well done to every single child! There were so many amazing slogans and logos!
As part of our campaign to become more active, we now have balls, skipping ropes, beanbags and hoops at big break on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and as you can see, it is a great success!
