About Us
Our Lady's Girls' National School shares a common campus with Our Lady's Boys' National School. We are situated in a place of great natural beauty, nestling at the foot of the Dublin mountains and in close proximity to Marlay Park. The proximity of Our Lady's School to the local church of St. John the Evangelist promotes a spirit of co-operation and generates a strong and vibrant community identity within the Ballinteer area.
History
Our Lady's Girls' and Boys' School was founded in the mid-sixties. Canon Perkins and the priests in Dundrum anticipated the population explosion which was about to take place in Ballinteer. Six temporary classrooms were erected and fitted out on a temporary site where Ballinteer Shopping Centre now stands.
In October 1971 the Department of Education granted permission for a new permanent structure with accommodation for two 16-classroom schools. Our Lady's Girls' and Our Lady's Boys' Schools opened their doors on the 1st July 1973.
