Green Schools' Programme
In 2004 we were awarded our first Green Flag in recognition of our effort to "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" and since then Our Lady's has had very active Green Schools' Committees working hard to keep us aware of environmental issues. We celebrate Climate Action Week, Walk to School Week and much more! In March 2018 we achieved our seventh Green Flag! Very well done to all involved and long may the hard work continue!
Active School Flag Programme
Active School Flag (ASF) is a Department of Education and Skills initiative supported by Healthy Ireland. It is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school. In early 2018, we embarked on the ASF Programme and were very proud to be awarded our flag in May 2020. In terms of levels of physical activity, our school has been transformed through this process. 736 out of 3300 primary schools in Ireland have been awarded this flag and we are very proud to be one of them.
Gaelic Games
Games Promotion Officers from St. John's G.A.A. Club in Ballinteer provide blocks of Gaelic Football and Camogie lessons during school hours, where possible.
Athletics
Each June we participate in the Cumann na mBunscol Athletics Finals in Santry.

Tag-Rugby
Rugby Development Officers from Leinster Rugby deliver blocks of tag-rugby lessons to all classes each year along with providing opportunities for the children to participate in tag-rugby blitzes with other schools.
Cycling Safety
'Cycling Safety' delivers a ten week cycling safety training programme to a designated class in our school each year. They provide the children with the skills and knowledge required to be better, safer cyclists. We endeavour to ensure that each child avails of this opportunity during her time in our school.
After-School Sports
We offer the following after-school sports to various classes: Gaelic football, camogie, basketball and table tennis, coached by both dedicated school teachers and specialist outside coaches. The children train after school and participate in the relevant leagues and competitions.
